    GENERAL APPEARANCE:    A fair skinned, blonde, young woman of Hyurian build with golden eyes. Baby-faced, perpetually rosy cheeks. Simple clothing, mages garbs, little to no skin shown. Soft, downy feathering on neck and chest, always hidden with glamours.

Five years following the events at Carteneau, adventurers green and weathered make their way into the bounds of Eorzea in droves. This increasingly common sight provides each newcomer with a rehearsed welcome that has since become the daily norm.Much the same for Melinoe upon her entry into Gridania. Her homely garbs and weathered equipment spoke more of an empty coin purse than anything else - Her predisposition towards healing magicks, however, spoke otherwise.The young woman's growing notoriety on account of her generous healing services and willingness to travel where many other adventurer's would not (without heavy pay,) would soon lead her to parlay with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.

*   BIOGRAPHY,

Ishgard's war with the Dravanian horde long predates this influx of adventurers. The lives of many lost on both sides, centuries of unending warfare : Little wonder some grew weary of the bloodshed.
Within the Dravanian Forelands lay a Wyrm named Syf, curled upon herself as she sit - Once again mourning the passing of her brood. This loss of beloved children a near constant reminder of the battles raging just beyond her home's walls.
Even a nigh immortal being beholden to such wisdom as she, who had come to see some odd five hundred summers past, has limits to their restraints. And this loss, her newest brood of only so few moons to Ishgardian steel, neared her end.
With the patrolling of the fore and hinterlands came a shrill crying. Alerted by the sound, twisting something maternal in her gut, Syf comes upon the remnants of a caravan. Torn apart by lesser Aevis, whom she had frightened away with her presence. Among the wreckage: A hyurian babe.It's pitiful crying gave rise to ire in her breast. With all intent to stomp it's life out in a gesture of retribution for her own children, Syf raised a clawed forelimb above it's body : But a weak, pudgy grip encircling the very tip of her talon gave Syf pause.She found no fear, nor burning hatred, reflected back at her in the infants eyes. Syf could not recall when, if ever, she had seen mortal eyes unclouded by the flames of the Dragonsong war. In fact, she had scarcely thought it possible.The culmination of her grief, a moment of madness perhaps, leads Syf to taking the child. Fleeing into the forelands, secluded from the grasp and influence of her kin and that of the Ishgardians. A hidden abode, sheltered with magicks and glamours to raise this final child.

Melinoe was an odd child. A product of her upbringing or mayhap something inherent. A distinct lack of fear and a near dangerous penchant for curiosity in it's place. In tandem . . A deep interest in all creatures living, and dead.
Unfortunately for the protective, troubled Syf, Melinoe possessed a striking talent for stealth. The number of times she had somehow managed to slip passed both Syf and her set barriers seamlessly in the name of exploration countless by her tenth summer.
Her overwhelming potential and inclination towards magic was also not lost on Syf ; who was all too content to encourage her scale-less daughter to train and study (with the resources available to her within their home, of course.) The ability to defend and heal herself would do the child well in the world outside their home . . Not that Syf had any intention of willingly allowing her to breech those boundaries for many years to come, which she made well known despite Melinoe's constant pleading to venture beyond.Despite this, Melinoe remained unyielding in her search for further knowledge. Imagination roused by the information and depictions in the few tomes available to her. In keeping track of her mother's comings and goings, it did not take long for her to begin charting courses into the fore and hinterlands with the unsupervised time available to her.It was within the hinterlands, among the abandoned, dilapitated buildings, that Melinoe would find a wealth of discarded (or forgotten,) knowledge. Often her trips would lead her back to these wealths of tomes, weathered and watered as they may have been. In their unrestricted bindings, young Melinoe gave true study to magic. In practices both light and dark.Melinoe's ventures would eventually bring with them unforeseen yet warned of consequences. Her presences noted and followed by Ishgardian reconnaissance. It was not long before Syf and Melinoe were beset by knights.
In the bloody chaos that followed, Syf gave her life to protect her daughter . . And Melinoe in her ire employed her first usage of necromancy, turning the bodies of the knights fallen against their own until none remained.
Following the carnage, Melinoe gave heed to her dying mother and drank of her blood. A final protective blessing for the days to come without her.

*   FACTS.,

* Following Syf's death Melinoe spent much time living as a vagrant in the wild's surrounding Dravania, Coerthas, and Ishgard before migrating towards Gridania. A natural when it comes to living off the land, though she has a tendency to get very lost, very quickly. Not that she's too worried about it.* Mel has, as mentioned in her main bio, an intense interest in most creatures (both living and dead.) Having been extremely sheltered in her upbringing and with a more rampant curiosity than most, she spends quite a bit of time observing and documenting the things she learns about the creatures and people around her. She has a notebook strapped to her person constantly for this purpose. Her fascination is known to border on the eccentric side. Though she does her best to be respectful this is often overshadowed by her overly rational mindset (which leads others to judge her as cruel.)* (1) Despite having consumed dragon's blood, the only notable physical affects on Melinoe's body are: feathers on various parts of her body (neck, upper chest, sides, legs, etc.,) sharper canine teeth, talon like nails. All of these physical aspects can be, and are typically, hidden by Melinoe with glamours and clothing.* (2) Mel has inherited specific abilities and traits from consuming Syf's blood: Her general senses and reflexes are more sensitive than most individuals. Her body is more in tune with the shifts and whispers of the Earth underfoot. She is more easily able to converse with beast tribes and be understood by them inherently in return. Trait wise: The ability to purr and growl (rather uncanny sounding, she's trained herself to stifle the urges,) feathers are highly sensitive and reactive to touch / emotion.* In addition, because of her now mixed makeup: Individuals with the ability to sense subtle shifts and differences may be able to detect that there is something off about Melinoe.* Mel possesses a predisposition towards magic based classes & an overwhelming amount of control over her ridiculously potent mana/aether. This may also set off certain aura sensitive individuals and your muse is free to comment on it if this applies!* She does not make use of her necromantic abilities under normal circumstances as she realizes this magic to be taboo in nature to most spell casters and has no wish to draw attention to herself. Targets affected by necromancy can be manually controlled or function on auto-pilot, manually controlling a risen individual takes concentrated effort.

*   SIN EATER,

Brought low and consumed by monstrous light, Melinoe's body twisted and grew - Likely influenced by the wyrm's blood in her veins, her new body as a lightwarden retains it's human upper half while it's lower is that of a large, feathered dragon.
Whether a blessing or a curse, Melinoe seems to retain a measure of her former personality and humanity. She does not actively seek out violence and destruction, but does not hesitate to consume any who wander into her territory uninvited.
Her psyche is unstable . . She does not seem to realize what has happened to her and when confronted by individuals she knew in her past, remembers them fully and fondly. If reminded of the truth, of what she has become, she flies into an inconsolable rage.

*   AZEM (PERSEPHONE,)

The holder of the fourteenth seat of the convocation - Persephone.
Her body a veritable wellspring of primordial energy, Persephone's touch would leave trails of blooming flowers and foliage in it's wake.
Allowed reprieve from her overprotective mother, Demeter, by her occupation as traveling emissary she was not one to linger within Amaurot's borders for long.
When not wandering Persephone would often be found within the bounds of Elpis, consorting with it's creations.
* Persephone shares many physical and personality traits with Melinoe. This is something muses are free to make note of, if applicable.
